Mrs. Shiraz T. Irani

Chairperson

It’s with a feeling of pride and joy, that I write this message.

We are at a unique moment in time. The world has recently undergone disruption and chaos, caused by an unprecedented global pandemic, which has not just changed human lives, but has also impacted economies around the world.

When I look back at how we handled these turbulent times in our own IJRES world, I feel immense pride and gratitude. We all came together and weathered this storm the best way we could, with determination, commitment, focus and passion. So let’s all give ourselves a collective ‘well done’.

My Experience in IJRS - A Teacher's Perspective

I have had the privilege of being a part of IJRS since 1999. As a teacher, it is a fulfilling job that allows me to not only impart knowledge but also make a positive impact on young minds. I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for my students. I believe that every student has the potential to succeed and reach their goal.

Students of IJRS are blessed with lots of extracurricular activities such as sports, music, yoga, chess, computer, ATL and lots of competitive exams, which help them develop their skills and abilities. Our school also offers a unique opportunity for students to read, analyze and interpret various texts which enables them to broaden their horizons and gain new insights into the world around them. I have had the pleasure of watching my students grow and develop throughout their school years. It is a rewarding experience to see them gain confidence, improve their skills and achieve their goals

However, teaching is not without its challenges. As a teacher, I learnt to face the task of balancing the needs of different students, managing classroom dynamics, and adapting to different learning styles. Despite the challenges, being a teacher has been a fulfilling experience for me. It is an opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives and contribute to the betterment of society.

I am happy and proud to be a part of the IJRS family. I started my career at IJRS as a Computer teacher. Today, I am happy and contented to see my growth in this prestigious institution. Sincere thanks to our Management, Principal Mrs Veena S. A and all my colleagues who helped me to become who I am today. I will always try to be committed to providing my students with a quality education and helping them reach their full potential.

My IJRS School Experience

Becoming a teacher was a dream come true for me, and the Ideal Jawa Rotary School played a major role in it. The school takes great interest in the development of each child’s progress and goals. The interest is excellent, and it is a model school to be praised.

As an IJRS teacher, I was given the opportunity to become an excellent teacher by the institution that shaped me and helped me improve my understanding. The school principals also stood behind us in difficult situations, filled us with confidence, and encouraged us to continue our work. Even in emergency situations like Corona, how can work be done? By providing technical training to teachers and integrating them into modern technology, the institution has been formed, and we have been serving continuously in this school for the past 8 years.

This school is mentally and financially supportive by supporting me and making my life path comfortable. This institution has given me the support I need and I will never forget it. This school is an institution that strives for the overall development of children. Along with government education programs, by incorporating many educational programs that complement children’s future, for example, Sanskrit, music, chess (chess), etc. through educational activities through all-round, the institution stands behind the development of children.

The IJRS Perspective

I have been associated with Ideal Jawa Rotary School, directly or indirectly, practically all my life. I personally believe that there is a price to pay to walk this beautiful Earth and one way to do so is to do whatever one can to make life better for another creature of God whether man, animal or insect.

I chose to start working and continue to work in this institution because it aligns with my view of life. This institution was started with the intention to serve and provide quality education at an affordable price. What keeps me here is the honest and sincere effort of those in control to give our students the best possible start in life. No obstacle is too big or high when it comes to the education of our students. No cutting corners, a whole lot of dedication and selfless giving of their time to help give our students a good start in life.

Innovative Mathematics Teaching at IJRS

In my 28 years of experience in teaching math, I have always strived to show students how beautiful the world of Math is. As they say, Mathematics is the queen of all sciences, but often young minds find it challenging to grasp. However, our school has taken a great initiative to make learning Mathematics a pleasant experience by using interactive boards and smart classes. This has made the teaching and learning process very user-friendly for both beginners and experienced teachers. I am grateful to the school management for providing such wonderful facilities and wholeheartedly thank our beloved Principal for her invaluable guidance, which has resulted in improved SSLC results. It’s an honour to be a part of this innovative and concrete learning experience at IJRS.

Empowering Teachers and Students through Innovation at IJRS

I am Ms Vimala Y Mathematics and Physics faculty with more than 20 years of experience in teaching High School.

It has been a delight serving in IJRS. It has opened doors for learning and exploring knowledge, one of the more recent additions being the ATAL Tinkering Lab that enlightened us, the teachers and students alike, through the various creative projects that includes problem solving, development of decision making abilities and leadership qualities in pupils. Smart class and interactive boards’ sessions have equipped and enabled teachers to learn, grow and even go forward in the field of mathematics and physics.

I am thankful to be a part of IJRS that has helped me grow to be  a better learner and also  a  better teacher.

Empowering Teachers and Students through Innovation at IJRS

Rotary, Me and the Way Forward

I was excited about the possibility of having an impact on a young child’s life. I believe that enhancing a student’s life is one of the main satisfactions of teaching. This is an extremely meaningful and fulfilling way to spend the day at work.

I am lucky to have had the chance to work in these classrooms and learn firsthand about kids, teaching, and how I fit into this profession as I think back on the past five years at IJRS.

It is pleasant for oneself to have knowledge to impart to others. I was given the fantastic opportunity to teach English as a second language at LJRS at a time when I had no idea what to do next. Without a doubt, the opportunity to work at this institution placed me in a position where I had to overcome obstacles while also reaping the rewards of working with pupils in grades 10 and tiny tots.

With the help of this experience, I was able to develop into a more powerful and assured instructor, which finally confirmed my love for teaching and provided me the assurance to continue down my career path. Working with my seniors proved to be a wonderful experience, and teaching English to high school kids was my first experience doing so. This experience completely changed the way I perceive teaching English.

This experience undoubtedly wouldn’t have been the same if it had taken place at another school than IJRS, therefore I’m thrilled and grateful to be a part of the IJRS family and more happier that I began my career here.

In addition to academic help, I want to teach my pupils valuable life values such as the importance of community, good behaviour, sportsmanship, and more. I am aware that teaching requires a lot of work, but I am convinced that my sincere enthusiasm, optimistic outlook, compassion, and passion for learning will help me to stay committed to the profession.

Last but not least, I will always be appreciative to the Management for allowing me the chance to develop my teaching abilities.

This is me, and I love teaching

Empowering Teachers and Students through Innovation at IJRS

My experiences in Ideal Jawa Rotary School have taught me a great deal of discipline and time management, which are essential in the teaching profession. Balancing numerous activities with my school life, family, and social life has provided me with a lot of experience with prioritization and has made me very efficient. I joined IJRS in 1989 . I was interviewed by Mrs. Sheila F Irani and Mr. Sanath Kumar.
Mrs Sheila Irani cared greatly for teaching and non teaching staff beside students of IJRS. . She lived for the school. We were her first love. Her words were law for us. We were always prepared to carry out her orders. She always advised us to work hard to achieve the goal of our life. She was very keen about art and craft. She would check that every child took part in the art and craft activities. And other Co-curricular activities too. I still remember those days. The open day was very special. Teachers would Compete with each other on the day of Open day Mrs Sheila Irani would visit all the classes. Without even missing a single classroom. We would wait for her visit to our classrooms with so much of curiosity to know what will be her comment. Because she would pick up each craft item to see the name of the students and the material used. She wanted all craft to be made only out of waste material. Even the charts which were put up in the classrooms were scrutinised by her to see If they were ready made pictures or drawn and coloured by the students. She not only encouraged the students but also the teachers to learn art and craft. This made teachers show more interest towards the subject. She would even select the best displays of the classrooms and award cash prizes to the teachers. I am proud to say that I had won the first price thrice.
Mrs Sheila Irani believed in strict discipline and gave importance to good manners and character. She treated every individual equally. One thing which I liked in her was that she never put down anybody and she would always appreciate the good work of each individual that really made many staff to serve in this institution for a longer period. Time was very precious to her. She never wasted her time. Even while waiting for a driver, she would not sit idle. She would cut some pictures from the old magazines or newspapers and give it to the KG teachers to stick them in the students book or on the report cards. During the lunch, as she would sometimes go around to see if the students were bringing nutritious food. If not, she would instruct the parents during the PTA Meetings To send good food for their children so that they feel happy when they open their lunch boxes every day. We always had a school sports day on Children’s Day. At the beginning we had our sports day inside the school premises. Later, as the strength increased, it was held at the ovals ground. Mrs Irani did not want to give medals or certificates as prices. She always gave toys for children to enjoy. She made sure to discuss a student’s progress with the teacher each term. Courtesy, refined manners, good behaviour was to be maintained by the efforts of parents and teachers in harmony. She was very particular about the cleanliness of the pupils. A spic and span atmosphere prevails both among students and staff. Neatness and etiquette along with academy qualifications, hold good among the past pupils who are countless and hold esteemed positions in society. They return to thank the principal and the staff for this great achievement and success, as they were encouraged by the principal late Mrs Sheila Irani to pursue not only academically but also extra curricular activities. Which has certainly trained them to be true citizens. And this is continued by her son Rotarian Raian F. Iranias a wonderful guide who strives to maintain former standards and to a great extent in further striving to make the school even better with wonderful modern equipment. Students today are extremely privileged as computer education starts at an early age at Ideal Jawa Rotary School. The Rotary school is really to be marvelled at and we owe a big thank you. To the late founde and his wife.
